Greetings from Thailand!

Hello to all from Thailand! Yes, I finally made it to the only other place that everyone talks about besides Kalymnos! Ive been waiting 3 years for this journey and thanks to all of you, my friends and clients, I have made it. I began massage school this past monday and so far its going great...making new friends and learning new things. I will head south to Koh Samui in a couple of weeks, then to Cambodia for a visit. After that, Malaysia, then back up into Thailand and head to Tonsai where I hope to meet up with many of you! It will be nice to actually just hang out with everyone and climb...instead of missing out due to work! Of course, if anyone should ask me for a massage, those that know my work already, I will not say no! There is Thai massage offered on every corner, but my work is specifically tailored to you, the climbers...so, don't hesitate to ask! In fact, I look forward to the opportunity to try out some of the new things Iam learning here!!! Any guinea pigs out there??? That's all for now...more later! Take care, Happy Holidays & see you next year...here, there, wherever! xoxoxo

Endings and new beginnings...

Well, once again it is time to say goodbye to Kalymnos! The season has come to an end...but there are many new beginnings ahead.

We all had an amazing season...busy busy busy. It was a difficult one for me personally but with the support of all my friends, I made it through.

The winter plan will get me back on my feet again...Thailand! I will be studying Thai massage, doing lots of Yoga practice, traveling, participating in a meditation retreat, doing a detox, going scubadiving, and of course...a little climbing!

I have dedicated this winter to my health...both physically and spiritually and I look forward to the results. I feel a big change coming...it´s time.

Next year, you will all meet the ´´New and improved Monica´´! I will be back in Kalymnos mid or late March, nothing certain yet. I will make sure to inform you all!

Until then, take care, have a wonderful winter, thank you all for the love, and I look forward to seeing you...wherever, whenever!

The largest continuous climbing wall in the world!!

From left to right...Spartacus, Afternoon, Grande Grotte, Panorama, Stankill, Kalydna, Iannis, and Poets sectors!!! This is the view of our spectacular wall in Kalymnos from the harbor of Telendos island which is just 700 meters from our shores! Great for a rest day...but they also have several great sectors now!!! Not to mention fabulous hiking, awesome secluded coves, and amazing food in a very very peaceful quiet (no roads...no scooters or cars!) environment. Enjoy!

MASSAGE FOR CLIMBERS

I´m glad to say that my massage schedule has been very busy!!! I take just four appointments a day so make sure to schedule in advance as much as possible. Plan it for your rest day or the day before and you will recover quicker and be fresh for the next day out climbing! Appointments can be arranged by callling or sending sms to my local number 0030 697 846 8884, or you can stop by Ibiscus Studios #18 and leave a note on the door! Remember, in the mornings I am usually out climbing!!! Hope to see you out there...and on the massage table later!

Autumn has begun!

Greetings from Kalymnos!!! Yes, I have arrived...finally! What a pleasure it is to enjoy climbing on the beautiful sunny island and not be dripping with sweat! The quality of the rock is great with the exception of the occasional moist stalactite! The nights are very refreshing and the breezes are gentle...Autumn has begun! Yesterdays sunset was incredible as you can see!

I was greeted warmly and with enthusiasm...¨people have been asking about your massage!¨ I began working as soon as I was set up. Considering how far you all travel to get here to climb hard...I stay busy! Thanks!!! It´s a great way to enjoy your rest day and accelerate the recovery process so you are fresh to attack the rocks the next day! Look for my posters in town, send me an sms or call +30 697 846 8884, or just stop by Ibiscus Studios to arrange an appointment. If I am not in, you can leave a note!

In Masouri, you can still see remains of the tourist season, but the faces are changing daily and the climbers are taking over...I like! In the next two weeks, I expect the place to be busy so if you have your plans to come, and don´t have reservations yet, I can offer some help. Aside from Ibiscus Studios that i manage, I can also be your conexion to plenty of other locations in town! Send and email with details and I will reply with options.

The restaurants...Greek salads, oven roasted lamb, grilled calamari, fresh fish, local cheese and olives, yogurt with fruit and honey for desert...it´s so nice to be back! Don´t be afraid to try them all. Every place has something special...there are some great restauants in neighboring towns too, I can recommend a few!

The water...what a treat! The best is taking a swim at sunset...the temperature is perfect, the beach is peaceful, and the light is amazing. It´s a great time of year for swimming, snorkeling and diving. Last Spring I began my diving lessons and I will be starting again soon! I will complete the open water certification this season so once I get to Malasia this winter I can enjoy!

Well, I hope to see you soon...and remember, I am your Kalymnos-Conexion...and also your favorite massage therapist...here to help make your holiday a success! I can help with travel details, scooter & car rentals, studios reservations, restaurant recommendations, scuba diving contact, climbing beta, anything under the Kalymnian sun! Filakia
